She fashions each individual piece by hand using a freeblowing technique that ensures that each signed and dated piece is unique.
Siddy's
glasswork is translucent, and the colours have a rich three-dimensional
quality. They convey her deeply held beliefs about
the richness and value of our environment and its fragility and
vulnerability. Siddy is a keen diver and the glass conveys her wonder and
fascination at the richness of life on the sea bed. She has never lost that
fascination that children have when they first pick up a marble and hold it
to the light - that tiny world inside the glass, constantly changing as the
light catches the patterns within the glass. Siddy has recently developed
the
“the making of glass combines all the elements - earth, wind, fire and water and as such seems a wholly natural process. I sometimes feel that I am no more than a catalyst bringing all these elements together for their own mysterious purpose.” SL
