The latest news from the Gallery After a busy Christmas period it is now time to think about the coming year. In addition to the exhibitions mentioned below many local artists have their work on show in the Gallery at the moment I have work by Janet Rogers, Liz Garnet and Dianne Griffiths. We also have ceramics by Tony Benham, Tracy Covell and Mary Sampson, and knitted silver jewellery by Gill Bridgestock and the very unusual work of Marieka Cavell using such item as spoons, knives and forks. Exhibitions for 2008 12th April – 10th May Siddy Langley Glass – Siddy has held several very successful exhibitions at the Gallery in past years and I am sure that her new exhibition will be well received once again. Siddy is working on some new ideas for this years exhibition, the pieces I have seen are of excellent quality, Siddy never ceases to find new inspiration for her work, as well as producing new pieces of her very popular iridescent work. Siddy will of course be present for the preview evening on Friday 11th April (any wish to attend please contact me to arrange for an invite). Siddy will also be here to meet the public on Saturday 12th April. 7th June – 5th July Glazed Art (formerly Living Glaze) – Glazed Art combine the work of Alan Clarke and Lise B Moorcroft. Alan set up Living Glaze with Mark Nixon after leaving Poole Pottery during a period of uncertainty within the company and has now been joined in his venture Lise B. As well as many of the popular ranges of work by Glazed Art there will be several ltd editions and one offs exhibited either one of the artists or Sales Director Mark Nixon will attend the exhibition with demonstration pieces to explain the processes involved in the design and making of the work.

Artists-Suppliers The new artists I introduced prior to Christmas have proved popular in particular, glass artist Tom Petit other glass artists include Susan Parry and Joanne Mitchell I also have in stock new work from Martin Andrews, Roger Tye, Stuart Akroyd and The Glass Studios at Denby. Siddy Langley has started to make jewellery which is totally new and innovative under the name of Stoned Medusa (Multigenius 6 in1 Necklaces). Other artist new to the gallery are, animal sculptures by Stef Ottevanger, hand crafted natural ceramics by Sally Mareike and contemporary ironwork from Belltrees Forge. We will also have 4 new jewellers on display all with totally different distinctive styles.
